BBC profiles importance of conflict resolution training

A year on from the summer riots the BBC has recognised in a recent news story the importance of training the next generation to deal with conflict more positively. The BBC article, Anti-social behaviour training 'could defuse conflict', looks at evidence from the RSA, (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) who commissioned a report into the riots and the response needed to them.

Wandsworth Mediation Service has been working to provide preventative training in the area of conflict resolution for several years. Most recently they have been involved in a innovative pilot providing conflict resolution training for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education. Equipping young people with the skills and tools to manage conflict positively is key to helping prevent conflict in the community. Not only that but conflict resolution training invests into the lives of young people, helping them to make a valuable contribution to their community.
