Our work in mediation

Wandsworth Mediation Service (WMS) is a local charity set up to provide charitable mediation services to the community of Wandsworth. Founded by Stephen Ruttle QC, we began out of a vision to see our local community provided with the opportunity to be at peace with one another and themselves. We provide community mediation services and related training to our local community.

Supported by volunteers

We do not receive any public funding, our mediators are volunteers. In order to provide this service, we offer CMC accredited commercial mediation services, charged at national rates, with all fees channelled into our charitable work.

To give an idea of the scale of our work, in 2010 we worked with over 60 households to provide community mediation and hosted three training courses in conflict resolution. This work involved over 40 volunteer mediators who gave their personal time to provide local residents with the opportunity to deal with conflict in a different way.
